Our school offers specialized support to help students and families thrive. With dedicated staff including student resource officer, student advocates and therapists, students receive guidance for academic, emotional and behavioral needs. Resources are also available for language support, special education services and school supply lists to help every student start the year prepared.

Support Staff

Licensed Therapist

A licensed therapist is key to supporting students' well-being in schools, bringing expertise in social work or mental health counseling. To maintain their qualifications, they renew their licenses through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency by completing ongoing professional development including workshops, conferences and online training. This ensures they stay equipped to provide the best support for students' emotional and mental health needs.

Roles of Support:
- Works with students individually or in groups on life skills like emotional regulation and conflict resolution.
- Delivers classroom presentations on emotional and mental health topics.
- Collaborates with teachers and parents to develop support plans.
- Addresses issues like anxiety, depression, grief, self-harm and relationship problems.

Administrative Assistant

The administrative assistant supports the principal by managing a variety of administrative tasks and serving as a key liaison between the principal, staff, students and parents. They handle communications, maintain records, assist with student discipline and ensure daily school routines.

- Assist with student registration and documentation.
- Support student discipline and monitor student behavior during activities.
- Analyze student behavior data and attend meetings for student success.

Student Advocate

Student advocates are focused on supporting students and ensuring a safe and engaging school environment. Their primary goal is to form positive relationships with students, which leads to increased engagement and better academic outcomes. They will also assist with security initiatives to maintain a safe school setting.

- Monitor and support enhanced security initiatives, including weapons detection systems.
- Walk through the building to ensure security and safety.
- Foster positive relationships with students to encourage engagement.
- Provide a supportive presence for students during school hours.

Student Resource Officer

Our school Resource Officer (SRO) plays a vital role in maintaining a safe school environment. Our SRO works in partnership with our school to provide safety and mentorship.

Roles of an SRO:
- Responds to safety concerns, emergencies and potential threats on campus.
- Builds relationships with students through mentorship.
- Educates students and staff on topics like law, digital safety and drug prevention.
- Works with school administrators to develop and implement safety plans.

- Provides immediate response and coordination in crises or emergencies.

Intervention

Our goal is to close the reading gap and help students progress toward grade-level reading. Students also receive instruction in small groups from their classroom teacher to continue the differentiated learning.

Roles of Support:
- Provide additional support in reading for students who need it.
- Pull students for 20-30 minutes a day for targeted reading instruction.
- Deliver differentiated lessons based on individual reading levels.
- Work alongside classroom teachers to support continued small group learning.

Building Instructional Coach

Special Education

Our mission is to provide individualized support for students with individualized education plans (IEPs) through direct services, ensuring they receive the accommodations and resources outlined in their plans. We prioritize collaboration with parents and regular updates to IEPs while maintaining an inclusive environment.
